We are thrilled to announce that In Shifra’s Arms is now a member of the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies. The Network was formed in May 2017 by merging the Association of Jewish Family and Children’s Agencies (AJFCA) and the International Association of Jewish Vocational Services (IAJVS) into a single organization. Comprising more than 140 nonprofit human service agencies in the U.S., Canada and Israel, The Network strives to be the leading voice for the Jewish human service sector.

What We’ll Gain

In Shifra’s Arms is the only organization in the United States that provides Jewish pregnancy help to women with unplanned or crisis pregnancies. As a member of The Network, we can now access many resources to help us better serve Jewish pregnant women, including:

  • An agency locator
  • An interactive resource library
  • Discounted trainings, technology and resources
  • Connections to local Jewish agencies across the U.S.
  • Network events, conference calls and member-only affinity groups

Our services for Jewish pregnant women include free counseling, material aid, financial aid and community connections. Community connections allow us to provide Jewish pregnancy support to our clients, wherever they may be. Access to The Network’s member directory and resource library will allow to us to connect our clients with even more local agencies and relevant resources.

What We’ll Give

We will also serve as a resource to other member agencies. One of The Network’s four pillars is “Partnerships and Collaborations.” Our goal is to make it known to Jewish women, human service agencies and social service professionals that they can lean on us for Jewish pregnancy help. We look forward to developing partnerships with other agencies and organizations to expand our reach within the Jewish community and increase the amount of support we can provide to our clients.

To help jumpstart new opportunities for collaboration, we created this special FAQ geared toward social service professionals.
