In the United States alone, up to 9000 pregnant Jewish women terminate *annually* because they are not equipped- emotionally and/or financially- to have their unexpected baby. This includes many married women. No woman should feel forced to terminate her pregnancy because she doesn’t have the support she needs.

At SHIFRA, we nurture pregnant Jewish women through unplanned pregnancy crises and equip them for motherhood. More than 75% of SHIFRA callers considering termination for emotional or financial reasons will continue their pregnancies after working with our counselor.
Most women calling SHIFRA don’t *want* to terminate- but they need a lot of help if they are going to have their babies. SHIFRA offers professional counseling and targeted financial aid that saves lives, equips moms and builds strong Jewish families.
Since our inception, we have helped more than 300 SHIFRA Moms through crisis- touching every major American Jewish metropolitan area. Most have called us recently- we have DOUBLED in size in last two years.
